Often times, I feel like the “O” word gets a bad wrap. From my experience and what I’ve gathered from society, this word brings dread and avoidance. In my personal opinion, it’s often misunderstood and relegated only to use when talking about children. But I’ve recently been enlightened to how freeing this word can be and what it can truly bring to one’s life.
When people hear the word obedience or being obedient, things that come to mind are submission, losing control, relenting, or not getting our way. Upon first look, those can seem like bad things. Who wants to submit to an authority or who wants to give up control of their life and circumstances? If you think about it long enough, it can actually start to sound scary.
